Carpet Tiles

Elemental

The Elemental collection of QuietBack™ carpet tiles takes inspiration from the randomness of the natural environment. Each color is made from an original yarn thread-up of 3 complementary colors, woven together to create unique blends across a tonal palette of warms, blues and greens. The elaborate thread blend mimics the intricacies and subtle color integrations found in nature; making Elemental comfortable, grounding and inimitable.

The Flow collection of BarrierBack™ carpet tiles is comprised of four fresh designs across a blend of blue and grey colorways. The free movement of water across a landscape inspires the textural patterns found in these designs. Available in four beautiful colourways, Flow BarrierBack™ carpet tiles are designed for aesthetic and acoustic versatility.

Vittina

The Vittina collection, with its distinct bright colour combinations and zig-zag pattern, takes its visual inspiration from intricate shell patterns. Each design within the Vittina collection has a strong zig-zag pattern, made up of a layered combination of contrasting colours. Whilst the pattern is consistent throughout the collection, each of the 6 comprising colours are vibrantly different; Pewter, Mandarin, Khaki Green, Storm, Turqouise and Platinum. These names, like a shell, are inspired by the bright yet naturally occurring colours visible in nature.

Elevate

The Elevate collection of  BarrierBack™ carpet tiles  is  comprised of  biophilic-inspired designs across four fresh colourways. The Earth is undulating, starting with the depth of the ocean trench, moving up to the ground level of the dense hinterland, and then all the way up to the mountain summit. From here, you have the view of the land below. From a birds-eye view, the troughs and peaks of the  earth forge unique environments; Plateau, Summit, Hinterland and Ocean Foam, with colours and movement inspired by the geography of the land.

Argentium

The Argentium collection of BarrierBack™ carpet tiles is comprised of three unique tile patterns; a base charcoal grey stripe, four complementary solid bright colours and four accent highlight tiles. The name Argentium means silver alloy, relating to the silvery tones found in the aptly named base tile ‘Silver Beam’. ‘Emerald’, ‘Sapphire’, ‘Copper’ and ‘Ruby’ provide a conduit accent tile between Silver Beam and the solid highlight tiles. The solid colour contrast of ‘Emerald Solid’, ‘Sapphire Solid’, ‘Copper Solid’ and ‘Ruby Solid’ break up the greys of Silver Beam and add flair and colour pops.

Satellite

The Satellite collection of BarrierBack™ carpet tiles is comprised of five colorways each featuring a plain, tonal dark stipple, characteristic of a distant view of space. These dark tones are broken by subtle lines, inspired by orbit lines of major satellites as they would appear on a map of space.

The Canyon collection was inspired by the stillness and tranquillity of the canyon floor in the beautiful desert country between Southern California and the Colorado Plateau in the USA. The canyon walls shield you from the noise above. You are at peace amongst stunning beauty. Wildlife abounds in this quiet land. Wildlife that would otherwise be overlooked or dispersed by the noise of modern life. It is serene and enriching. It is quiet. This is where we found the inspiration for the Canyon collection design.

MONITOR

The Monitor collection was inspired by the clean and elegant lines of the design studio itself. Minimalistic workstations with wide screen monitors sit idle late at night. Power-saving mode leaves the screen glowing a dull charcoal while brightly coloured data cables punctuate the lifeless office with a sense of the energy that will fill the room in the morning. This is where we found the inspiration for the Monitor collection design; in the stillness of anticipation.

Empedocles described the classical world as consisting of four elements: water, wind, fire and earth. Our ears recognise the crackle and roar of fire, the whistle and bluster of wind and the crash and splash of water but the earth is quiet. Mighty rocks and towering mountains stand silent for a thousand years. The wind may whistle around them, waves may crash on them but they stand tall and silent. The earth remains quiet.

Highlights flicker through the natural colours of water and stone to create a surface that is comforting and familiar. It seems so natural that we feel welcomed and embraced. Water glistening on stone, the natural speckle of granite and sun-drenched ripples on a nearby pond all rush to mind. Available in nine beautiful colourways, Escape carpet tiles have been designed specifically to provide a superior acoustic performance to that of similar floor coverings.

FLINDERS

As one of the world’s best-kept secrets, the Flinders Ranges has been able to maintain its rugged, untouched landscape. Ridgetops and outcrops of faulted sediments make this arid mountain range as beautiful as it is geologically and historically important. Along with the acclaimed Wilpena Pound, many other treasures of the Flinders Ranges have been the inspiration for Australian artists, one being Hans Heysen.

Dark and light tufting moving in rhythmic but random harmony expressing the essence of life in a way that is universally embraced. Latin dance is the inspiration of this ubiquitous floor covering. It can be used in so many different applications with stunning results. An elegant but neutral expression of polytonal design. Latin dance is an expression of life. It is all about moving to the rhythm of life. But to move to the rhythm of life, you have to hear it. Stop. Be still. Hear your heart.

Multistorey

Inner-city high-rise developments have resulted in new and interesting working, learning and living spaces. People in close proximity need soothing aesthetics and the ability to find a quiet place to think. Such has been the inspiration for the MultiStorey range.

Palette

Available in eighteen beautiful colourways, Palette carpet tiles are designed specifically to provide the architect or designer with an artist’s palette of vibrant colours to design a space with eye-catching aesthetics. At the same time, the Palette range delivers superior acoustic performance to that of similar floor coverings, allowing a space to be designed for the ears as well as the eyes.

Scatter

Look at a gravel driveway, a well-kept lawn or a forest floor in autumn. The grey stone gravel of the driveway covers the ground like a single sumptuous blanket running from the road to the house. It is elegant, it is harmonious and it is as one. Look closer and you see the driveway is made up of different sized gravel. There are many different shapes, different shades of stone, different sizes. Look at the lawn and you will see irregular blades of grass. Look at the floor of a Plane Tree forest and you will not see a single orange leaf that looks exactly like another. It is the way with nature. We see unity in difference.

It was thinking about opening up the “universe” of opportunity that inspired the design and naming of Satellite. The plain stipple of tonal dark colours of the Satellite range is characteristic of a distant view of space. These dark tones are broken by subtle lines, inspired by orbit lines of major satellites as they would appear on a map of space.
