Acoufelt’s proprietary QuietPrint technology allows us to apply high-resolution images to our smooth, sound-absorbing FilaSorb felt without compromising its acoustic properties.  

Soft, noise absorbing materials can now be printed to appear as modern hard surfaces – such as wood, brick or concrete – without the associated reverberation issues, weight, and high cost of materials and installation.

When printing on acoustic material, there is often a trade-off between performance and resolution.

Many high-resolution printing techniques involve laying down a hard-setting paint or ink over the top of the base surface. This can result in a filling of the gaps in the porous surface of an acoustic material. With QuietPrint™, each fiber is colored with high precision, ensuring the airgaps in our FilaSorb™ acoustic material remain open to absorbing sound.

Some printing techniques create an impenetrable layer that reflects sound,
causing reverberation and echo.
