Why FilaSorb™?
FilaSorb™ is a high quality felt material by Acoufelt.
FilaSorb™ felt is designed for acoustics, sustainability, human safety, depth of color and smooth surface printing. This is delivered through calibrated high-quality sourcing and manufacturing processes.
FilaSorb™ is made from a substantially heterogeneous blend of fine fibers; different denier combined for specific acoustic results.
Color Technology
From sourcing to manufacture, FilaSorb™ material is quality controlled at every step of the creation process.
Fibers within the FilaSorb™ blend are selected and sourced from a small group of trusted suppliers. By combining fibers of different color tones and thicknesses, Acoufelt maintains a high level of control over the color finish, evidenced in the depth and strong saturation of color of FilaSorb™ products.
Our QuietPrint™ printing technique also enables FilaSorb™ panels to be printed with high precision, without impacting acoustic performance. This allows for printing in an infinite number of colorways.
Acoustic spectrum
FilaSorb™ is made from fine fibers of different denier, combined to create material in a range of thicknesses to achieve a variety of acoustic results.
This combination of fine fibers results in a high active surface area for sound absorption, enhanced resistivity, and a greater interface area for dispersion of noise.
FilaSorb™ products are available in a wide range of thicknesses to cater for different acoustic, aesthetic and budgetary requirements.
PET to panel
We view waste as a resource in the manufacture of our FilaSorb™, incorporating a minimum of 60% recycled PET material.
Every square meter of FilaSorb™ contains the regenerated fibers from approximately 135 x 600ml (20 fl oz) recycled PET bottles. To close the loop on the circular economy, products made from FilaSorb™ can be recycled again at the end of their useful life.
