Based in Buenos Aires and New York, Alejandro Avakian’s works hold the rhythms, atmospheres, the music and movement of both cities in barely contained tension. Gestures and abstractions are his twin languages.
About the artist
Avakian balances the elastic nobility of oil within a container of the ´well tightened´ frame to capture his global universe — the colors and rhythms of the neighborhoods of San Telmo and Barracas mingle with the energy and movement of Manhattan.
