A Global Company with a Global Commitment

Helping architects and designers meet their clean building goals.

Acoufelt’s primary material components – FilaSorb™ felt and QuietBack™ carpet tiles – are made from regenerated PET fibers with a minimum of 60% recycled content. We test our acoustic products against a number of internationally recognized environmental and human safety standards and accreditations, to ensure our products can be manufactured safely and are safe for human use. Read more about these standards and accreditations below.

Our fibers are made from post-consumer plastic beverage bottles diverted from landfills and oceans. Every square foot of our FilaSorb felt contains the regenerated fibers made from approximately 7 20oz recycled bottles.

Discarded soda and drinking bottles are cleaned and cut into flakes before being melted and extruded into pure white fibers.

The regenerated fibers are clean and odorless.

Fibers are carded, layered into sound-absorbing webbing, and thermo-bonded to create new FilaSorb felt for acoustic panels, ceiling clouds, and tiles.

FilaSorb can be recycled again at the end of its useful life.
